Before you get all excited about what's coming out of my oven let me just say that bakin' carrot biscuits has become my way of saying "takin' care of business" since I read that on a misheard lyrics website. So, come on, let's bake us some of those carrot biscuits.
When I first learned to crochet I learned how to make granny squares from my Auntie Maffalda. I love granny squares. They just form themselves into the most precious designs. This project was a very fast, very big granny square project - a big hook with double yarn. It took only a short time to finish up, just the one evening.
The sweet black dotted cotton covers the pillow form and then slides into the granny squares. This is a birthday present for a certain niece. The bright pink makes me smile.
This is the other business I was bakin' carrots. A colleague asked me to come up with a simple paper crown for an early graduate. The words "simple" and "crown" do not go together in my mind of course. A girl needs adornment after all. So our early grad will be decked out in flowers.
And speaking of adornment - someone went crazy with the spray glitter this morning. Look at my car. I know that it couldn't be frost 'cause, geesh, I live in California. What's up with that?
Have a terrific weekend, ladies. And 'scuse me while I kiss this guy.
I hope you are very bundled up today! The granny square pillow is absolutely adorable. Some day I'll learn how to do that! I also love the crown. Your grad is going to feel very special!
