Well, not with a tornado barreling down the road at me, but yes, I'd like to visit Kansas. I'm clicking my ruby slippers.

One favorite place:::

Ballyvaughan, County Clare, Ireland. I would be very happy there. It's quite the magical place. Leprechauns and all

A favorite object:::

My new computer. Even though it gave me fits trying to get it all set up AND it didn't have a word processing program on it, I am very happy it's mine.

My favorite food:::

I'm not lying when I tell you that I probably have a sandwich every single day - usually for breakfast.

Favorite color:::

I'm pretty open-minded about colors, love me some blues and greens, but pink...well, pink just makes me smile.

Favorite animal:::

Just don't be surprised if this is how I turn out in my dotage, that's all I'm saying.

Well, truthfully Hershey was the name of my daughters' first pet; Hershey, the brown dog.

Where I live:::

I live in uber-cool, ultra-techy Mountain View, the heart of the Silicon Valley where we have neighbors like Google, Verisign, Lycos, and any other name you can pick off a computer. Culture, my butt. It is a nerd's paradise.

First grade teacher's name:::

Not to be confused with Angelina Jolie, that homewrecker!!!

My middle name:::

Oh, geesh. My middle name is Verne, alliterative but quirky. It's a family thing

A bad habit:::

I watch far too much. I'm pretty sure that everything that is wrong with me can be traced back to too much television viewing.

College major:::

In actuality, I had more than one major but graphic arts and journalism were the ones I completed. I got a job right out of school with a pretty well-known designer and hated it, so I started a fine arts major but never completed it. I did work in journalism and quite liked it but I just have too good of manners to be a reporter.

My favorite holiday:::

No gifts to buy, lots of yummy food...what's not to love?

I like it... my son has made Lawrence Kansas his second home ... it is the home of the University of Kansas.. we love it and so would you.. the main streets are named for states.. he lives on Vermont St. ... there are lots of old homes with great character... a city park with old band shell.. and a downtown with little shops .. the people are so nice and helpful.. it is like a perfect, college town.. he called and said they got 8 ins. of snow today and it looks like a Christams Wonderland...

This is a fun meme. I spent a lot of time in KS as that's where my dad was from. I also like your neck of the woods! I'm not very techy or nerdy but I love that area up there.
