Sum up your life in a half dozen units of language suggested Anna and Leigh Ann. We know you like a word challenge. And we know you're gonna need ideas for 31 days of posting. Well, in a word, yes. Yes, I like a word challenge and yes, I need ideas for 31 days of posting. And the challenge is this; write a six word memoir.
In so many words, here it is.
Life in reverse, never go backwards.
Here's the story.
While I have taken most of the steps we expect to take as women, I have just done them assbackwards. Perhaps because I am somewhat contrary I have proceeded through life in obverse order. The usual route might be college, partying, job, marriage, children. But my trajectory was more like; marriage, children, college, partying, job. Same destination, different route; kind of the antipolar express.
Never go backwards - I am a fatalist. Not that I always expect the worst, more like I think that life happens as it is supposed to, usually to our advantage if we let run its course. So, when I leave the house and look down to see I have on one red shoe and one pink one; I assume that an obvious reason for this mismatch will present itself and I do not return to my room to change my footwear. If I turn the wrong way down a road I just keep going until I get around to the determining spot and wend my way from there. I never make a u-turn. I never take do-overs. Life is what it is. I think this might have been my strongest guiding force and words of wisdom - No do-overs, work with what you've got, play the cards you are dealt, never go backwards.
Want to give this little exercise a try, sum up your life in six words? It winnows thoughts down to the essentials. You will be amazed how it clarifies. It'll make you ponder what's important and it's a little difficult to decant so many years and experiences into such a small glass but you can do it.
Word.
(In the photos? A few little pendants I'm working on and a precious votive holder from Raesha)
ohhhhhhhh, I love those pendants! :-)

My 6 words: "Isn't it time for a nap?"
I nap. To deal with stress. To cope with illness. To relax. To process information. To cuddle with the cats. To soak up some quiet time. To give myself more "me" time at night. Yep. Those are really good words for me.

When I come and visit and find I have not been for awhile, I always feel guilty! Why? I have no idea but everytime I read your posts they make me smile! You entertain us with your words and crafts and I really should visit more often.
I do love coming here! x

The first six words that come to mind that sum up my life at this very moment are "Happy arthritis hasn't kicked my butt"
I have arthritis in my back and hands. My doctor is always amazed how much I continue to be able to do. Of course I am not amazed. I HAVE to continue with what I do. Creating art is essential to my well being!

The pendants are great, you are really on a creative roll.
This meme is going around, I did mine yesterday - "You'll find me in the kitchen".

Believe me, no one wants to hear my six words today. They would very much resemble the Seven Dirty Words as enumerated by George Carlin.

Pendants? You didn't say there would be pendants! Ack! And 6 words: Life Should Be A Grand Adventure! - stolen from Helen Keller.

These six words are spectacular!!! I so enjoy the story behind them (I've lived mostly backward too.) And the pendants -- I NEED one of those... NOW.

Lovely memoir. I saw this idea somewhere else, and think it's pretty neat. I'm going to give this one some thought.
